The Marco HandyRef-K Portable ARK is a solution for accurate refraction and keratometry measurements anytime and anywhere. The HandyRef-K handheld autorefractor and keratometer is lightweight, and its compact design makes it easy to hold, balance, and use. The intelligently designed button layout is also useful in one-handed operation. For inexperienced patients like children, the newly added melody function can ease anxiety and draw attention. Data can be transferred quickly and easily to a PC.

FEATURES

  • Lightweight, compact design
  • Full graphic 3.5” LCD color screen
  • Auto shot mode for easy data capture
  • Pupil size measurement
  • Retro illumination image observation
  • Axis correction function
  • R/L auto detection
  • Keratometry measurement with Mire Ring
  • Removable magnetic occluders

Pupil Zone Imaging Method

The HandyRef-K analyzes a wide area pupil zone (max. 4mm diameter). More accurate measurement data, closer to the subjective refraction is possible by measuring the light coming through the pupil zone in a wider area. Small pupils (min. 2mm diameter) can also be measured.

Super Luminescent Diode (SLD) & Highly Sensitive CCD

Super luminescent diode (SLD) light source provides a sharper and more defined ring image compared to conventional LED. The highly sensitive CCD camera detects the image even if the fundus reflection is weak due to media opacities.

SynchroScan Technology

Measurements start when alignment is achieved, and data is captured when alignment becomes optimal. This provides a more stable, effective, and efficient measurement.

Supine Position Mode

When tilting the instrument 60º or more downward, the supine position mode automatically starts. When measuring from the patient’s side, the cylinder axis is compensated by 90º and is displayed.

Focusing Indicator

By detecting the distance between the instrument and the patient’s eye, the alignment guide mark is displayed on the screen to facilitate smooth measurement.

Measurement Modes

  • Auto Shot Mode – When the alignment/focusing becomes optimal, the HandyRef-K gets the measurement data automatically. If unstable data is included, additional measurement automatically starts.
  • Cataract Measurement Mode – If appropriate data cannot be obtained by standard measurement, it enters the cataract measurement mode automatically to harvest the data more easily.
  • Quick Measurement Mode – Faster and simpler measurement for patients who have difficulty in alignment. By relaxing the measurement range, children or patients whose eye movement is not stable can still be measured smoothly.
  • Additional Measurement Mode – If the measurement data obtained by auto shot is not reliable, additional measurement will automatically be performed by additional measurement (AM) mode.

Memory Data Management

The measurement data of 50 patients (100 eyes) is saved in the main body memory.

Melody Function

A melody can be played to hold a child’s attention during measurement.

Enhanced Interface

LAN/WLAN, RS232C cable and EyeCa-RW2 (Eye Care card) provide quick and easy data transfer from the HandyRef-K/HandyRef to RT. Measurement data transfer to a PC through LAN/WLAN or USB flash drive is possible.

Portable Base Unit & Printer

By utilizing a portable stand, the HandyRef-K can be used as a desktop device. An integrated printer with auto cutter function is also available. By using an IR or wireless LAN (WLAN) connection, measurement data can be printed even if the main body and station are separated.
